Obituaries

She was born August 8, 1956 in Lockney, WV; daughter of the late Delbert and Geneva (Harris) Parsons.

Madeline worked as a dietary aide for the Glenville Center Health Care Facility in Glenville with 10 plus years’ experience. She also worked for Minnie Hamilton Health Care System in and around Grantsville for several years in the same role. In her spare time, Madeline enjoyed gabbing with her sisters and granddaughters on the phone, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible, and spending time with her family.

On October 5, 1974 Madeline was united in marriage to Russell Joseph Duskey, who preceded her in death on November 14, 2007.

Surviving is her loving son, Joey Duskey and wife Lisa of Tanner Creek, and 4 siblings, Kay Peters and husband John of Normantown, Greta Peters and husband Paul of Normantown, Wanda Accord of Beckley, WV; and Trish Knicley of Arnoldsburg, WV; and her fiancée, Steve Barr also of Tanner Creek.

Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Kayla Small (Casey) of Grantsville, and Brittany and Bryan Duskey of Glenville, 6 great-grandchildren, Hayven and Tryton Small, Brystal and Sawyer Satterfield, Lennox Luzader, and Laken Duskey, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with her husband and parents, Madeline is preceded in death by 8 siblings, Hallie Minney, Lenora Miller, Pearl Parsons, Cora Kimes, Eddie Parsons, Chester Parsons, Harry Jack Parsons, Jessie D. Parsons and Steven “Bub” Parsons.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Monday, September 9, 2024 with Pastor Jim Huff officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Community Cemetery in Stumptown. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM; Monday at the mortuary in Glenville.
