Peggy June Wade, 75 of Tanner, WV; departed this earthly life in the morning hours of Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at her residence following a brief battle with cancer.
She was born March 23, 1949 in Weston, WV; daughter of the late Leamon and Amy (Stalnaker) Grogg.
Peggy is a homemaker who loved caring for her family. She was described as an amazing cook who could fix just about any dish imaginable. In her spare time, Peggy enjoyed shopping, visiting the Amish Country, canning, spending time with family and friends, and caring for her dogs Maddie and Bo.
On June 3, 1967 Peggy was united in marriage to Herbert Clyde Wade, who preceded her in death on September 12, 2023.
Surviving are 6 children, Tammy Hatfield and husband Charlie of Smithville, WV; Rodney Wade and wife Paula of Dixon, MO; Allen Wade and wife Monica of Glenville, Kelley Spaur and husband Garry of Philippi, WV; Jessica Law and husband Darwin of Tanner, and Melissa Paxson and husband Kevin of Tanner, and 3 sisters, Deloris Davis of Pittsburgh, PA; Catherine Phillips of Mineral Wells, WV;, and Connie Cogar of Parkersburg, WV.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with her husband and parents, Peggy is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Freda Amos, Oleana Ferguson, and Dottie Bush and 12 brothers, Donal, Danny, Marshall, Leon, Freddie, Jack, Steven, Kenny, Keven, Anthony, Billie and Rondel Grogg.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Tuesday, September 24, 2024 with Pastor Kevin Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Three Poplar Cemetery on Holts Run. Friends will be received from 4:00 – 8:00 PM; Monday evening at the Mortuary in Glenville.
