William T. Thomas, 71 of Burnsville, WV; departed this earthly life in the early morning hours of Saturday, October 5, 2024 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born September 7, 1953 in Camden, NJ; son of the late Clyde E. Jr., and Josephine (Enwright) Thomas.
William is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served his country with honor and distinction. He spent most of his working life in the construction industry as a laborer and heavy equipment operator and in his spare time, enjoyed farming, fishing, riding his lawn mower, ATV riding, working with firearms, spending time with family and friends, spoiling his grandkids whenever possible, and generally being outdoors.
On August 23, 1998 William was united in marriage to Renee M. (Simpson) Thomas who preceded him in death on September 1, 2024.
Surviving are 2 step-daughters, Jessica Johnson and husband Jerry Johnson Sr. of Tuckerton, NJ; and Cindy Oberle and husband Richard of Atco, NJ; and 3 siblings, Heather Pantano (Matt) of Williamstown, NJ; Kate Houst (Ted) of Gloucester City, NJ; and Thomas Thomas (Francine) of Cherry Hill, NJ.
Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Breanna Johnson and fiancée Michael Busza of Tuckerton, NJ; Eric Oberle of Atco, NJ; and Jerry Johnson Jr. and fiancée Taylor Vanicsko of Burnsville, 3 great-grandchildren, Hudson, Weston, and Ryder, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
William’s request for cremation has been honored and a celebration of his life will be conducted at a later date.
