Rondal Wayne Sprouse, 84 of Normantown, WV; departed this earthly life in the early morning hours of Thursday, December 26, 2024 at his residence in Normantown.
He was born June 5, 1940 in Normantown, son of the late Ernest and Hazel (Carpenter) Sprouse.
Rondal is a graduate of Normantown high School, class of 1959 and a graduate of Salem University, class of 1963. He was a teacher at Jane Lew High School and Lewis County High School for several years, having then transitioned to a social worker/supervisor for the Department of Health and Human Resources in Logan, Boone, Gilmer, Calhoun, and Wirt counties.
In his spare time, Rondal enjoyed working the 110 acre family farm in Normantown, spending time with family and friends, watching WVU sports, and living the quiet life in the Normantown area. Rondal was also instrumental in organizing the Normantown Historical Community Center, having invested countless hours donating his time and energy to that cause.
Surviving are 6 siblings, Larry Sprouse of Normantown, Carolyn Johnson of Cox’s Mills, Loretta Swinerton of Charleston, Norma Begley of Newberne, Neal Sprouse (Becky) of Glenville, and Kelvin Sprouse (Vicki) of Linn.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents, Rondal is preceded in death by a brother, Denzil Sprouse and baby sister, Anna Lue Sprouse.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Monday, December 30, 2024 with Pastor Mike Sprouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner Cemetery near Lockney. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Monday at the mortuary in Glenville.
In lieu of flowers, Rondal request memorial contributions be made to the Normantown Historical Community Center LLC., 10223 US Hwy 33 West, Normantown, WV; 25267.
