Audrey Aileen Richards Curry, 96 of Glenville, WV; (Holts Run Community) departed this earthly life in the late evening hours of Thursday, January 23, 2025 at the Mon Health Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, WV; following a brief illness.
She was born September 26, 1928 in Lockney, WV; daughter of the late Whitt and Virginia (Tallhamer) Yeager.
Audrey was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, quilting, living the quiet life in her twilight years, and she was a Pentecostal by faith.
On December 15, 1946 Audrey was united in marriage to Okey E. Richards who preceded her in death in September 20, 1959.
Surviving are 6 children, Charlie Richards (Linda) of Tanner, WV; Bob Richards (Sis) of Holts Run, Ernie Richards (Jeanie) of Grantsville, WV; Brenda Porter of Flatwoods, WV; and Sam Richards and Ginny Curry of Holts Run, and 15 grandchildren, Charlie Richards Jr., Bobby Richards, Shannon Richards, Richie Stephens, David Wine, Briana Helmick, Beverly Jones, Becky Grogg, Ernie Richards II, Rick Richards, Jason Richards, Johnathon Richards, Lisa Tallhamer, Crystal Nicholson, and Dustin Richards.
Also surviving is a brother, Tessa Yeager of Grafton, OH; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents Audrey is preceded in death by a son, Whitt Richards, 2 infant sons, Albert and Earl Lee Richards, 2 grandsons, Shawn Stephens and Kenny Richards, 2 brothers, Joy and Gless Yeager, a daughter-in-law, Lillian Gidley, and a son-in-law, David Porter.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Tuesday, January 28, 2025 with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery at the mouth of Holts Run. Friends will be received from 5:00 PM; – 7:00 PM; Monday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
