Stephen Joe Greathouse, 74 of Cox’s Mills, WV; departed this earthly life suddenly on Friday, April 18, 2025 at his residence on Alice Road.
He was born November 17, 1950 in Gassaway, WV; son of the late Junior Greathouse and Mary (Stalnaker) Greathouse Smith.
Stephen worked for 4D/Flying W Plastics with more than 30 years of service. In his spare time, Stephen enjoyed, watching westerns on TV, caring for his yard and property, classic cars, and watching the hummingbirds from his front porch.
On October 12, 1996 Stephen was united in marriage to Nancy Darlene (Minney) Greathouse, who preceded him in death on April 11, 2019
Surviving are 2 daughters, Angela Davis (Chuck) of Jane Lew, WV; Shelley Greathouse of Texas, 2 step-daughters, Michelle R. Gum (Jim) and Jennifer D. Fallo (Charles), both of Weston, WV; and 5 grandchildren, Maddysen N. Parsons, Leah L. Fallo, Brayden C. Fallo, Sampson L. Ramsey, and Logan M. Ramsey.
Also surviving are 6 siblings, Kathy Irizarry (Henry) of Cleveland, OH; Gilberta Kowalski (Ron) of Elyria, OH; Bonnie Brown of Burnsville, WV; Glen Greathouse (Cyndy) of Sand Fork, WV; Shelia Greathouse (Albert Fisher) of Sand Fork, and George Smith (Gail) of South Yorkshire, England, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Along with his wife and parents, Stephen is preceded in death by a brother, Ranny Greathouse and Step-father, Raymond Smith.
Stephen’s request for cremation has been honored and a private celebration of his life will be conducted at a later date.
