Kenneth Edward Coen, age 54, of Heater Fork Road, Burnsville, West Virginia, (Tomblin Run Community in Gilmer County) departed this life at 11:24 P.M., Thursday, September 24, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 18, 1961 in Barberton, Ohio. Kenneth was the son of the late Coy and Dreama Coleman Coen.
Kenneth was a general Laborer in the construction industry and a certified plumber. He was a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1979 and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Sand Fork, West Virginia. He enjoyed playing bluegrass and gospel music with his guitar and banjo. He like to work in his garden, fishing in his youth, collecting antiques, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are his long term Companion and love of his life, Rachel Dancy-Wyre and her son Charles Daniel Wyre of Birch River, West Virginia, 4 siblings, Sherry Metz and husband Charles of Linn, West Virginia, Jeffery Coen and wife Carole of Port Republic, Virginia, Cathy Rubush and husband Thomas of Weyers Cave, Virginia, and Leah Nicholson and husband Eric of Burnsville, West Virginia.
There are also 5 nieces, Meko Boggs, Sabrina Gilmore, Ashley Rollyson-Easter, Samantha Rubush, and Erica Nicholson, 3 nephews, Ronnie Michael Gilmore, Colby Rubush and Steven Chapman, multiple aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his dog, Roxxanne.
Along with his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by 1 sister Debra “Dee” Diane Boggs, and 2 nephews, Jeromy Gilmore and Brandon Rubush.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, West Virginia, 26351 at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, September 27, 2015 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating and Full military honors provided by the United States Army and Lewis County Honor Guard. Following services, Kenneth’s request for cremation will be honored and burial will follow at a later date in the Walker Cemetery on Kenner’s Ridge in Strange Creek, West Virginia. Friends may call from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Sunday at the mortuary.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the Glenville First Baptist Church Cancer Fund, attention Susie Sheets, 217 East Main Street, Glenville, WV; 26351.
