Shirley E. Large age 82 of Walkers Fork Road, Copen, West Virginia, departed this life at 1:55 PM; Friday, April 22, 2016 at her residence following an short illness.
Born December 17, 1933 in Braxton County, Shirley was the daughter of the late Theopolis and Mary Cogar Yeager.
Shirley was a manager in the retail industry, having worked at a Carpet outlet store for 28 years. She loved spending time with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and caring for her family. In her spare time, Shirley loved swimming, spending time outdoors, and she was a Christian by faith.
On April 27, 1963 she was united in marriage to Robert W. Large, who preceded her in death on April 28, 2004.
Surviving are 2 sons, William “Bill” Large and wife Bonita of Copen, West Virginia, and Robert Jay Large and wife Wanda of Tallahassee, Florida, and 4 siblings, Emily Brady, Oscar “Buck” Yeager, Shannon Yeager, and Shelby Yeager.
Also surviving are 34 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by 5 children, Henry Wimer, John Wimer, Nancy Bruchey, Randy Wimer, and Mikel Wimer, 1 sister, Naoma Frum, and 2 granddaughters.
Per Shirley’s request her remains were cremated and the family will have a graveside service at the Cogar/Yeager Cemetery on Toms Run Road in Braxton County with Pastor Robert Huffman officiating at 10:00 AM; Thursday April 28, 2016.
