Wilda Jean Queen age 86 of Middle Run Road, Lockney, WV; departed this life on Sunday morning, December 11, 2016 at the Genesis Health Care, Glenville Center in Glenville, following an extended illness. Born September 14, 1930 in Gilmer County, WV; Wilda is the daughter of the late Warder P. and Cora May Brookover Collins.
Wilda was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, spending time with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible, and she was a Baptist by faith.
Wilda was united in marriage to Parker Queen, who preceded her in death on May 15, 2005.
Surviving are 2 children, Betty Lou Wine and husband Paul of Dusk Camp and Eugene “Bub” Queen and wife Karen of Lockney, 3 grandchildren, Larry Jones and wife Missy of Gassaway, Gina Whitehair and husband Rick of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Sarah Crouch of Lockney, WV.
Also surviving are 6 great grandchildren, Scotty and Luke Jones of Gassaway, Marc Jones of Glenville, Bailey Parker Crouch and Rhett Thomas Garrett of Lockney, and Nova C. Whitehair of Colorado Springs.
Along with her parents and husband, Wilda was preceded in death by 1 full brother, Lyle Collins, 1 granddaughter, Megan Blanch Queen, and several haft brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Thursday, December 15, 2016 with Rev. Ronzel Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Turner Cemetery on Middle Run Road at Lockney, WV. Friends will be received from 5-8 PM; Wednesday evening at the mortuary.
