Wilma A. Tallhamer age 78 of Spruce Run Road, Glenville, departed this life on the morning of Monday, August 28, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness. Born October 24, 1938 in Gilmer County, Wilma is the daughter of the late Doy and Rosa James Langford.
Wilma was a graduate of Sand Fork High School, Class of 1957 and she was a cook for the Gilmer County Recreation Center with over 25 years’ experience. In her spare time Wilma enjoyed Playing bingo, cooking, working puzzle books, and collecting cook books.
For 58 years, Wilma was united in marriage to Parker E. Tallhamer, who preceded her in death on December 4, 2016.
Surviving are 5 children, Parker E. “Gene” Tallhamer, II of Glenville, Rusty Tallhamer and wife Grace of Glenville, Norman Tallhamer and companion Lora Coffman of Glenville, Tammy Tallhamer of Glenville, and Tina Miller and husband Craig of Shock, WV; 1 step-daughter Mildred “Millie” Plifka and husband Gene of Charlotte, NC; and 1 sister, Anna Belle Smith of Pennsylvania.
Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Wilma is preceded in death by 3 sisters, Lucille Hardman, Lillian Skeen, and Wilda Riffle, and 6 brothers, Bernard, Harry, Gaylord, Leland, Ruel, and Robert Langford.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Thursday, August 31, 2017 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Langford Cemetery near Glenville WV. Friends will be received from 6-8 PM; Wednesday evening at the mortuary.
