William E. “Bill” Nolan age 67 of Jane Lew, formerly of Glenville, WV departed this life on the afternoon of Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his residence, following a brief illness. Born June 14, 1950 in Gilmer County, Bill is the son of the late Jake and Tressie Mick Nolan.
Bill was a laborer in the oil and gas industry and a Baptist by faith. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing, restoring classic cars, watching NASCAR and going to the local dirt tracks. Bill’s true passion in life was spending time with his 2 grandsons. He was particularly proud of them when they raced at the Tyler County Speedway.
On September 21, 1970 Bill was united in marriage to Linda Greenlief Nolan, who survives at their Jane Lew home.
Surviving is 1 son, Rick Nolan and wife Carla of Jane Lew, WV; 2 grandsons, Levi and Caleb Nolan of Jane Lew, and 6 siblings, Elenor Rader of Bluffton, SC; Carol Byrd of New Martinsville, WV; Viola Bishop and husband Arden of Glenville, Karen Keesecker and husband Burl of Glenville, Jean Grogg and husband Kenny of Glenville, and Lewis Nolan and wife Jo Ann of Wichita Falls, TX.
Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by 6 siblings, Betty Lynch, Janet Kuhl, Jim Nolan, John Nolan, Baby George Nolan, and Baby Arnold Nolan.
Funeral Services will be conducted at the Church of God of Prophecy in Sand Fork, WV at 1:00 PM; Monday, September 18, 2017 with Pastor Bryan Groves and Pastor Donnie Stout officiating. Burial will follow in the Rhoades Cemetery near Glenville. Friends will be received from 11-1 Monday at the church. Following graveside services, dinner is being prepared at the Church and all are encouraged to attend and share in food and fellowship.
