Edna Pearl Lowther Lamb age 89 of Cox’s Mills, West Virginia, departed this life Thursday night August 21, 2014 at the Genesis Health Care Center Glenville, West Virginia, following an extended illness. Born March 15, 1925 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late Ola Amon and Gay Emily Rexroad Woofter. Edna was a homemaker and long term member of the Glenville Church of Christ. She worked part time for the Lewis County Senior Citizens and enjoyed quilting, gardening, and babysitting her grandchildren. Edna loved to cook, spending time canning food, and taking care of the farm animals. On Easter Sunday 1944 she was united in marriage to Argel Brent Lowther, who preceded her in death in May 1983. In 1989 Edna was united in marriage to James E. Lamb who preceded her in death in June of 1996. Surviving are 3 children, Harold Lowther and wife Trudy of Cox’s Mills, WV; Eugene Lowther and wife Walene of Princeton, Texas, and Joyce Moore of Belington, West Virginia, 1 brother, Elbert Woofter and wife Pauline of Bridgeport, West Virginia, and 1 sister, Elsie Ireland of Weston, West Virginia. There are also 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren surviving. Along with her parents and both husbands, Edna was preceded in death by 2 sons, E. Duane Lowther, and Larry L. Lowther, 2 brothers, Charles and Roy Woofter, and 1 sister, Eleanor Huddleston. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV, 26351 at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday August 26, 2014 with Evangelist Vernon Kerns officiating. Burial will follow in the Troy IOOF Cemetery, Troy, West Virginia. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday evening at the Mortuary.
