Lavonne Minigh age 88 of Cedarville, WV; departed this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, WV; following complications from hip surgery.
Born November 11, 1930 in Wetzel County, WV; Lavonne is the daughter of the late Charles Victor and Josie Alice Miller Childers.
Lavonne is a graduate of Normantown High School, class of 1949, and member of the Dawson Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school, played the church piano, and had a strong faith in the Lord and in her family. Some of her happiest times came when everyone was around the dinner table.
Lavonne was a homemaker, a published poet, and she had 70 plus years, experience playing the piano. In her spare time she enjoyed, sewing, flowers, civil war history, and she loved celebrating Christmas. Her husband Robert was known to comment about the Christmas tree staying up, long after the holiday was over.
Lavonne was a well kept lady, who always strived to be the prettiest in the room. She was also very well known for letting everyone know how much she loved to say, “I Love You”.
On December 31, 1950 Lavonne was united in marriage to Robert Joseph Minigh, who preceded her in death on February 17, 2018.
Surviving are 3 children, Eric Minigh (Wavie) of Parkersburg, Michael Minigh of Parkersburg, and Phillip Minigh of East Bend, NC; and special nephew, Daniel Reed (Ann) of Cedar Creek.
Also surviving are numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends and a niece, Kathy and Cousin, Rose, whom she spoke to on a daily basis.
Along with her parents and husband Lavonne is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Peggy Reed and Bernice Moyers.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 2:00 PM; Sunday, June 30, 2019. Burial will follow in the Cedarville Cemetery in Cedarville, WV. Friends will be received from 5:00-8:00 PM; Saturday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
