Joan Dobbins

Joan Dobbins, 72, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Canterbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fort Wayne. Born in Withers, WV, Joan and her husband have lived in Ft. Wayne for over 50 years. She worked as a House Keeper for several years and helped care for her close friends. She was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene, Joan’s hobbies included gardening and tending to her flowers, and was an avid collector of Antiques and was a member of the Curios’ Antique Club Surviving are her loving husband of 56 years, Adrian Dobbins of Fort Wayne, IN; daughter, Lisa (Larry) Kinser of Morgantown, IN; son, Charles (Cheryl) Dobbins of Farrell, PA; brothers, David McVaney of Tampa, FL; Winston (Sharon) Collins of Akron, OH; sisters, Hilda Watson of Ft. Wayne, IN; Barbara (Clayton) Applegarth of Alexandria, IN; grandchildren, Justin, Zachary, Noah, Sarah, Daniel, Joshua . Joan was preceded in death by father, Charles Everett Collins, mother, Bessie Belle Bennett. Service is 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Ellyson Mortuary in Glenville WV with visitation two hours prior. Calling also at – D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road Tuesday, September 16, 2014 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Burial in Dobbins Cemetery, Memorials may be made to the Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
