Marito Mae Stalnaker

Marito Mae Stalnaker, 94, of Glenville, WV; departed this earthly life in the mid-morning hours of Monday, November 15, 2021 at the Genesis Health Care, Glenville Center, following an extended illness.

She was born May 26, 1927 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late Clayton and Golda Wilson Furr.

Marito is a graduate of Glenville High School, class of 1945. She worked as a secretary for Glenville High School and later at Gilmer County High School, having retired in the 1970’s. She is a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and charter member of the Kanawha Drive CEO’s.

In her spare time, Marito enjoyed spending time with family and friends, living on the family farm at Kanawha Drive, and spoiling her granddaughter and later her great-grandchildren whenever possible.

On November 24, 1947 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Richard “Dick” Stalnaker, who preceded her in death on October 22, 2012.

Surviving are 2 Sons, Michael Richard “Mike” Stalnaker and wife Terri of Glenville, WV. and Patrick Lloyd “Pat” Stalnaker and companion Toni Bishop of Glenville, WV; 1 Granddaughter, Stacey Bailey and husband Roger of Glenville, WV; 2 great-grandchildren, Jack Norman and Phoebe Bailey of Glenville,  and 2 sister-in-laws, Margaret Stalnaker of Letter Gap, WV; and Rosalee Furr of Weston, WV.

Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with her parents and husband, Marito is preceded in death by 3 brothers, Charles, Bob, and Jim Furr, and her daughter-in-law, Robin Stalnaker.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Friday November 19, 2021 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery near Glenville. Friends will be received from 4-8 PM; Thursday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
