Doris Jean Luzader, 90, of Joe’s Run Road, Sand Fork, WV; was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in the early afternoon hours of Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Crestview Manor Nursing Facility in Jane Lew, WV; following a brief illness. She was born September 8, 1931 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late Carl and Vera Minigh Lowther. Doris is a homemaker who has a strong love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is a Baptist by faith and longtime member of the Sand Fork Baptist Church. Doris loved caring for her family, she is an amazing cook, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whenever possible. On April 15, 1950 Doris was united in marriage to Carl James “Popeye” Luzader who preceded her in death on January 15, 2012. Surviving are 2 daughters, Kathy Chapman and husband Darrell of Benson, NC, and Diana Langford and husband Jim of Chloe, West Virginia; 2 sons, Billy Joe Luzader and wife Shae of Grafton, Ohio and James “Randy” Luzader and wife Sherry of Sand Fork; 3 grandchildren, Kristi Bailey and husband Chris, Meghan Dorsey and husband Richard, Steve Chapman and wife Lynn,; 7 great grandchildren, Kimber Dorsey, Chesney Best (Adam), Alexis McVaney, Destiny Langford, Aaron Langford, Shawn and George McVaney; and a great great-grandchild, Ansley Davis. Also surviving is a brother, Harold R. Lowther and wife Becky of Sand Fork, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends. Along with her husband and parents, Doris is preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Chris McVaney and AJ Langford, and a brother, Junior Lowther. The family would like to thank the compassionate and caring staff at Crestview Manor in Jane Lew and would also like to thank everyone for their prayers and acts of kindness. A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Monday, January 3, 2022 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiney Cemetery near Linn, WV. Friends will be received from 5-8 PM; Sunday evening at the mortuary in Glenville.
