Betty Jo Sprouse, 84 of Linn, WV; departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV; with her loving family by her side. She was born May 28, 1937 in Gilmer County, daughter of the late Hoy Cecil and Eva Justine Radcliff. Betty was a homemaker who loved caring for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed working in her flower garden, and canning everything she could. She was a member of the Upper Ellis Methodist Church. She spent several years as the church secretary. Betty also enjoyed sitting on her porch with family and friends having a good time, and taking care of her grand dog Otis. On September 13, 1958 Betty was united in marriage to Sherwood C. Sprouse, who preceded her on July 11, 2007. From that union, 3 sons survive, David Sprouse and wife Linda of Flint, MI; Rick Sprouse and wife Denise of Glenville, WV, and Rodney Sprouse of Linn, and 3 grandchildren, Bambi Davis and husband Wayne of Clarksburg, WV; Kandi Ramsey and husband Van of Clarksburg, and Rachel Sprouse of Glenville. Also surviving are 4 siblings, William Hoy Radcliff of Linn, Winnie Louise “Midge” Pritt and husband Perry of Linn, Wilma Lea Myers and husband Charles of Linn, and Nancy Lea Moody of Glenville, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends. Along with her husband and parents, Betty is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Raymond Moody, sister-in-law, Wanda Radcliff, and 2 nieces, Sharon Myers and Melissa Diane Moody. A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Monday, May 30, 2022 with Rev. Carl Radcliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiney Cemetery near Linn. Friends will be received from 5-7 PM; Sunday evening at the Mortuary in Glenville.
