Karen Kay Thomason, 66 of Glenville, WV; formerly of Weston, WV; departed this earthly life in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the Genesis Health Care, Glenville Center following an extended illness. She was born October 30, 1955 in Weston, daughter of the late Robert and Susan Blake Hawkins. Karen is a graduate of Lewis Co. High School, class of 1974. She is a homemaker who enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, crocheting, bird watching, eating reese cups and drinking soda, being at the farm, and spending time with family and friends. On February 16, 2001 Karen was united in marriage to Harley Thomason who preceded her in death on February 10, 2021. Surviving are 3 kids, Richard Thomason (Tammy) of Walkersville, WV; Cindy Gibson (Chuck) of Weston, and Rex Thomason (Tina) of Linn, WV; and 4 siblings, Alva Hawkins (Randy) of TN; Robert Hawkins Jr. (Rhonda) of KY; Jerry Blake of PA; and Susan Burkhammer of Weston. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends. Along with her parents and husband, Karen is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tesla Gibson and 2 great-grandchildren. Karen’s request for cremation has been honored and a family memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
