James Scott

James Scott, 62 of Sand Fork, WV; departed this earthly life at his residence in the afternoon hours of Saturday, July 16, 2022 following a sudden illness.

He was born January 11, 1960 in Parkersburg, WV; son of Loretta Welch Scott of Big Springs, WV; and the late James Joshua Scott.

James was an auto mechanic in the Glenville area for many years having spent a lot of his time working for Glen Ashley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling his grandchildren whenever possible.

Surviving are 4 children, Harlin Andrew Campbell (Tiffany) of Cox’s Mills, WV; Justin Edward Scott (Eliz) of Parkersburg, Mary Ann Miller (Rickey) of Glenville, and Anthony Charles Campbell (Carrie) of West Union, WV; 7 grandchildren, Jacob Campbell, Clarissa Carol Dawn Miller, Zara Riki Miller, Miranda Campbell, Zach Reel, FaithLynn Scott, and Tayelir Scott, 2 great-grandsons, Kaisyn Wayne and Tate Edward, and 5 siblings, Jason Scott (Melissa) of Parkersburg, Beverly Dawson (Doug) of Big Springs, Marie Frymier of Big Springs, Marie Jones of Smithville, and Sue Dawson (Greg) of Grantsville.

Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Wednesday, July 20, 2022 with Rev Tim Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Big Springs Cemetery near Grantsville. Family and friends will be received from 12 noon -1:00 PM Wednesday at the mortuary in Glenville.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Ellyson Mortuary to aid with James’s final expenses.
