Harold Ray Lowther, 82 of Joes Run Road, Sand Fork Community, departed this earthly life in the morning hours of Sunday, September 18, 2022 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born May 1, 1940 in Sand Fork, WV; son of the late Carl and Vera Minigh Lowther. Harold was a well tender in the oil and gas industry for many years having worked for several local and regional companies including Petro Lewis Oil and Gas and Rockwell Petroleum. He is a Baptist by faith and longtime member of the Sand Fork Baptist Church. In his spare time, Harold enjoyed hunting, farming, playing softball, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever possible. On April 8, 1960 Harold was united in marriage to Rebecca Lou Luzader Lowther, who survives at their Joes Run home. Surviving are 2 daughters, Connie Gregory and husband Warren of Long Bottom, OH; and Cyndy Greathouse and husband Glen of Sand Fork, 2 grandchildren, Dr. Beth Connolly and husband Jeremy of Tuppers Plains, OH; and Mindy Marsh and husband Kristopher of Sand Fork, and 2 great-grandchildren, Becca and Henry Ray Connolly. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, many other wonderful family and friends, and his fur babies. Harold is the last of his immediate family having been preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings, Carl Junior Lowther and Doris Jean Luzader. The family would like to take an opportunity to thank all the wonderful employees at WV Caring (Hospice) of Burnsville for the amazing care they provided Harold. A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Friday, September 23, 2022 with Pastor Phil Wilson officiating. Following services, Harold’s request for Cremation will be honored and a dinner is planned at the Sand Fork Baptist Church. Friends will be received from 4:00-7:00 PM; Thursday evening at the mortuary in Glenville. Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., is honored to assist the family of Harold Ray Lowther with arrangements. |
