Geraldine Marie Parsons

Geraldine Marie “Jerry” Parsons, age 84 of Normantown, WV; departed this earthly life peacefully in the evening hours of Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, MD; following an extended illness.

She was born November 18, 1938 in Cedarville, WV; daughter of the late James Alvin and Helen L. (nee Isenhart) Marks.

She was a loving wife and mother who, after raising 6 children, worked at a job she enjoyed very much, as a PMR (Post Master Relief) at the U. S. Postal Service, for more than 20 years before retiring.

On February 7, 1959 Jerry was united in marriage to Harry E. “Jack” Parsons, who preceded her in death on September 13, 2019

Surviving are 5 children, Kennetta Sampsel and husband Paul of Wooster, OH; Harry E. Parsons Jr. and wife Debbie of Dundee, FL; Delbert “Jim” Parsons and wife Sherry of Dunkirk, MD; Kevin Parsons of Normantown, WV; and David Parsons and wife Kelly of Westminster, MD.

Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other wonderful family and friends.

Along with her husband and parents, Jerry is preceded in death by her loving son, Rodney L. Parsons, and loving brother, James A. Marks Jr.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Thursday, December 8, 2022 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Community Cemetery in Stumptown, WV. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon – 1:00 PM; Thursday at the mortuary in Glenville.
