Charlotte Ann Simmons Wilson, 75 of Clarksburg, WV; departed this earthly life on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at her residence following a sudden illness. She was born November 13, 1947 in Tanner, WV; daughter of the late Levi and Ethel Sims Simmons. Charlotte is a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1968 and worked as a home health provider for many years. She is a Christian by faith, and in her spare time enjoyed working on crafts, farming, working with black angus cattle, spending time with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren whenever possible. Surviving are 3 children, Brenda Heldreth and husband Scott of Clarksburg, Katina Smarr and husband John of Dusk Camp, and Laurie Crouch and fiancée Dave Waddell of Tanner, 6 grandchildren, John F. Post, Rebecca D. Post, Ceterika L. Dobbins and husband (Johnathon), Tyler D. Powell, Dakota L. Radcliff, and Jacob D. Freeman, 3 step-grandchildren, John Smarr (Amanda), Stephanie Smarr, Heather Moss (Travis) 2 great-grandchildren, Dalton J. Dobbins and Benjamin M. Dobbins who will arrive in early March, and 4 step-great grandchildren, Ryan, Nick, Jayden, and Kaydence. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Patty Shumaker of Ohio and Anita Hartshorn of Tanner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends. Along with her parents, Charlotte is preceded in death by her loving son Jeffrey K. “Jeff” Ball, 3 brothers, Raymond, Gary, and Nelson Simmons, and 2 infant siblings, Edward C. and Edith C. Simmons. A private funeral service was conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., in Glenville with burial in the Meadow Lane Cemetery beside her son, Jeff.
