Nellie Cunningham

Nellie Cunningham, 68 of Lems Run Road, Normantown, WV; departed this earthly life in the afternoon hours of Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV; following an extended illness.

She was born February 28, 1955 in Carter, TN; daughter of the late Fred Pierce and Mabel Davis.

Nellie graduated High School in Elyria in 1973. She worked as a quality control inspector in the Heating and Cooling industry and after coming to West Virginia enjoyed gardening, watching TV, spending time with family and friends, and living the quiet life in West Virginia.

In the early 2000’s Nellie was united in marriage to Bernard Cunningham who survives at their home on Lems Run Road.

Surviving are 2 sons, John and Matthew Axford of Elyria, OH; and numerous siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends spread across the United States.

Along with her parents, Nellie is preceded in death by a son, Charlie Axford, and many other family members.

Nellie’s request for cremation has been honored and a memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
