Karen Marie Queen, 64 of Normantown, WV; departed this earthly life in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center in Grantsville, WV; following a brief illness. She was born January 12, 1959 in San Antonio, TX; daughter of the late Rondel and Glenna Norman Miller. Karen is a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1976 and was a Poster Master for the United States postal Service with 27 years’ experience. In her spare time she enjoyed genealogy spending time with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren whenever possible, and eating ice cream with her grandson, Rhett. On June 26, 1976 Karen was united in marriage to Rodney Eugene Queen who survives at their Normantown home. Surviving are 2 daughters, Gina Whitehair and husband Rick of Colorado Springs, CO; and Sarah White of Normantown, and 3 grandchildren, Nova Whitehair of CO; Bailey Crouch of SC; and Rhett Garrett of Normantown. Also surviving are 3 siblings, Randy Miller of Normantown, Shirley Dawson of SC; and Debbie Harris of OH; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends. Along with her parents, Karen is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Megan B. Queen. Karen’s request for cremation has been honored and a family celebration of her life will be conducted later in the summer of 2023. Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., is honored to assist the family of Karen M.
