Nickolas Risko

Nickolas Risko, 88 of Smithville, WV; departed this earthly life in the early afternoon hours of Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the Miletree Center in Spencer, WV; following an extended illness.

He was born October 23, 1935 in Newark, NJ; son of the late Peter and Mary (Procak) Risko.

Nick was a truck driver for most of his working life having worked for Jaynes Motor Freight of Elizabeth, NJ; with 30 years’ experience. He is a Christian by faith and in his spare time, enjoyed, being outdoors, hunting in his younger years, going to flee market, spending time with family and friends, living the quiet life in WV; and being a good mentor to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

On September 28, 1965 Nick was united in marriage to Marcella (Maranitz) Risko, who survives at their Smithville home.

Surviving are 4 children, Mary Sadowski of Carteret, NJ; Peter Risko of Hamburg, NJ; Diana Sadowski and husband Paul of Blairs, VA; and Nick Risko Jr. Chatham, VA; and 2 brother, Peter Risko of Smithville, NJ; and William Risko of Avenel, NJ.

Also surviving are a host of grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many other wonderful family and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 2:00 PM; Saturday, March 16, 2024. Friends and family will be received from 12:00 noon – 2:00 PM; Saturday, March 16, at the mortuary in Glenville.
