Terry Lynn Bonnett, 72, of Coxs Mills, WV, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, at Mon General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 18th, 1951, in Weston, WV. He was the son of the late Howard and Madeline Bonnett. He was a graduate of Gilmer County High School class of 1972. Upon his graduation, he spent 45 years working as a truck driver and equipment operator. On April 2, 1988, Terry was married to his beloved wife, Janet (Blake) Bonnett, with whom he built a family he cherished. Terry and Janet spent 36 years together building the quiet, country life that Terry loved. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his children and grandchildren sitting on the front porch swing. Terry is remembered for his love of the outdoors. He grew up farming and hunting with his father Howard, and his siblings. Until his passing, Terry resided on the land that his father taught him to farm in his childhood. He carried his love and passion for the family farm into adulthood. He was able to share that passion with his children and grandchildren, and the love of those activities and the Bonnett land lives on in those who survive him. In his youth, Terry was quite the athlete. Many remember his love for softball. He spent many years playing in local softball leagues and eventually went on to coach the Gilmer County girl’s softball team. Terry is survived by his wife; Janet Bonnett, his children; Stacy Bonnett of Coxs Mills, WV, Brandy (Daniel) Bonnett-Sims of Glenville, WV, Shanda (Jason) Bailey of Sand Fork, WV, Michelle Bonnett of Nashville, TN, Crystal Bonnett of Arden, NC, and siblings; Danny (Ann) Bonnett of Linn, WV, Ronnie (Billie) Bonnett of Elkins, WV, Betty Luzier of Davis, WV, and Connie Minney of Coxs Mills, WV. Additionally, he is survived by his beloved grandchildren Gavin Bailey, Brantley Bonnett, Aidyn Bonnett, Stella Sims, and Sophia Bonnett. He is preceded in death by his parents; Madeline and Howard Bonnett, two brothers; Bob Bonnett and Jack Bonnett, and one sister; Patty Burkhamer. Terry will be remembered by all as a loving husband, dedicated father, and devoted grandfather. His absence will be gravely felt by his family and countless others who loved him.Friends may join the family for visitation on Sunday, March 10, 2024, from 11 AM – 2 PM at Ellyson Mortuary, 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351. His funeral service will immediately follow at 2 PM at the funeral home. Followed by a procession to Troy Cemetery for his graveside service with Pastor Bill Hunt officiating. |
