Charlotte May (Gibson)Thompson age 86 of Hale Street, Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life unexpectedly on the morning of Saturday March 19, 2016 at her residence. Born December 2, 1929, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Nellie (Ritter) Gibson.
Charlotte was a Nurse in the Health Care industry, Public Health Nurse in Gilmer County, graduate of Chapmanville High School class of 1947 in Logan County, and received her nurses certification at the Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, West Virginia.
In her spare time, Charlotte enjoyed spending time with family, working crossword puzzles, caring for her beloved pet dog, Christi, and she was a Methodist by faith.
In 1991 Charlotte was united in marriage to Russell B. Thompson, who preceded her in death on November 19, 2005.
Charlotte is survived by 2 children, Anita Toth Simpson and husband James of Glenville, West Virginia, and Phillip Toth and wife Sandy of Floyd, Virginia, and 3 siblings, Phyllis Circle of Daytona Beach, Florida, Russell Gibson of Stafford, Virginia, and Kenneth Gibson and wife Ruth of Dayton, Ohio.
Along with her parents and second husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank L. Toth, 1 grandson, Frederick L. “Freddie” Simpson, and 3 siblings, Woodward Gibson, Richard Gibson, and Rachel Robinson.
Graveside Services will be conducted at the Stalnaker Cemetery, in Glenville at 1:00 PM; Thursday, March 24, 2016 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Charlotte’s honor to the GilmerCounty Senior Center, Nutrition Program, 720 N Lewis St, Glenville, WV 26351.
