Steven Allen Parsons, known by many as “Bub” beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend will be forever missed and never forgotten and is now reunited with his beautiful daughter Kasey Lee on the beautiful shores of Jordan on April 20, 2020 surrounded by his wife and two children.

Steve was born to Delbert and Geneva (Harris) Parsons on April 24, 1948 and with the exception of a few short years in the Washington, D.C. area he called Gilmer County, WV home.

In September 1981 he convinced the love of his life, Regina Wayne, to say I do. They shared 38 years in a caring relationship built on mutual support and a deep love for one another.

The legacy of Steve’s beautiful spirit and love for life will live on through his children who survive him, Kim Jenkins (Tom) and Steven Parsons Jr. both of Glenville.

Steve is also survived by sisters, Hallie Minney of Sand Fork, WV, Cora Kimes of New Haven, WV, Wanda Acord of Lester, WV, Trish Knicely of Spencer, WV, Kay Peters, Greta Peters and Madeline Duskey all of Glenville, WV, one brother Jesse Parsons of McFarland, WV, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, who numbers in the dozens.

Steve’s grandkids were the pride and joy of his life; Charles Payne (Tiana) of Richmond, VA, Tressie Payne of Clarksburg, WV, and Kasey LeeAnn and Cole Parsons both home in Glenville. He was proud of all of them and never let an opportunity pass to boast about them to anyone that would listen.

Steve’s number one priority was providing and caring for his family and he did that through a career in the oil and gas industry. He worked 17 years for IL Morris Well Service and through many changes in companies retired with 32 years of service from EQT in 2016. This industry brought him many wonderful friends that he was extremely grateful for.

Steve attended Crooked Run Community Church for many years and was blessed by a wonderful faith and the love and support of his church family.

He enjoyed many family trips to Pigeon Forge, TN, his favorite vacation destination many years in a row. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and he rarely met a stranger. Steve always had a smile on his face and a joke on his lips for those he cared about.
Along with his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his daughter, Kasey Lee Parsons, great-granddaughter, Zoey Payne, and 5 siblings, Lenora Miller, Pearl Parsons, Eddie Parsons, Harry E. “Jack” Parsons and Chester Parsons.
Due to the current restrictions on public gathering because of the Covid-19 pandemic the family will have a private graveside service at the Collins Community Cemetery in Stumptown, WV; on Thursday April 23, 2020 with Peacher Bob Paintiff officiating.
Once restriction on public gatherings are lifted the family will have a Celebration of Life later in the Summer of 2020.
Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. is honored to assist the family of Steven “Bub” Parsons with arrangements.
