Kenny Owen Grogg age 70 of Glenville, WV departed this life in the afternoon hours of Monday, September 14, 2020 at his residence following a 7 month battle with Cancer.
He was born April 13, 1950 in Gilmer County, WV son of the late Leman and Amy Stalnaker Grogg.
Kenny is a lifelong resident of Gilmer County and is a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1969. He is a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he attained the rank of Sergeant when he was honorably discharged.
He is a former employee of I.L. Morris and Waco Oil and Gas and he enjoyed being with his family and his beloved dog Sassy. He also enjoyed working on engines at his family farm with his son and is a Methodist by faith.
On February 28, 1970 Kenny was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Nolan Grogg who survives at their home in Glenville.
Surviving is his son, Mark Grogg and wife Tyra of Philippi, WV; 4 sisters, Peg Wade of Glenville, Deloris Davis, Connie Cogar, and Katheryn Phillips all of Parkersburg, WV; and 1 brother, Billy Grogg of Glenville.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister-in-laws, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by 10 brothers, Donal, Rondel, Marshall, Leon, Oscar, Jack, Steven, Keven, Anthony, and Danny Grogg and 3 sisters, Freda Amos, Oleana Ferguson, and Dottie Bush.
A funeral Service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary and Cremation Services, Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351 at 1:00 PM; Friday, September 18, 2020 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. A private family burial will follow at the Meadow Lane Cemetery at the mouth of Leading Creek. Friends will be received from 11:00-1:00 PM; Friday at the mortuary in Glenville.
In accordance with the mandates set forth by the State of West Virginia, masks or some kind of facial covering must be worn inside the mortuary establishment and social distancing must be observed.
