Obituaries

Geraldine Sarah Moore, known to family and friends as Gerry, took her heavenly journey on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from her home in Shock, surrounded by her loving husband and children, who had been her primary caregivers for the past eight years.

She was born March 13, 1947, in Shock, WV, to the late Ralph and Susie Riffle Perrine.

Gerry attended Rosedale Grade School and graduated from Normantown High School in 1965.  She was a loyal employee of Horizon Energy Inc. for twenty-seven years.  She was a faithful member of The New Testament Baptist Church at Frozen Run and was a Charter Member of The Rosedale Senior Citizen Center where she served as Treasurer.

Gerry married her high school sweetheart, Gary, on February 26, 1966.  To this union, five children were born:  Marcia (Linda) Radford, of Pulaski, VA, Brian (Lisa) Moore of Glenville, WV, Misty (Richard) Pritt of Shock, WV, Carey (Michael) Wellings of Shock, WV, and Lori (Travis) Brookover of Kenna, WV.  Added to that joy are eight grandchildren:  Jordanne (Lucas) Beall, Tyler Moore, Austin Pritt, Grace Wellings, Laurann Wellings, Eden Wellings, Daney Brookover, and Mack Brookover.  On the day of her passing, the family welcomed great-granddaughter, Adelynn Rose Beall.

Gerry is survived by one brother, Nelson Duane (Jeanette) Riffle and so many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV 26351.  Friends will be received on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with services on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating.  Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Normantown, WV.
