Donnie Carl Carson, 81 of Orlando, WV; departed this earthly life in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV; following an extended illness.
He was born August 19, 1940 in Braxton County, WV; son of the late Alton and Jessie Cosner Carson.
Donnie was a coal miner, a mechanic, bull dozer operator, and also worked in the timber industry. In his spare time, Donnie enjoyed hunting with his brothers, fishing, spending time outdoors, gardening, working, and living the quiet life in West Virginia.
Surviving is his daughter, Carla Carson of Weston, WV; ex-wife, Barbara Carson of Ripley, WV; ex-wife Carol Carson Cook of Lewis County, WV; girlfriend, Anna Dodrill of Little Birch, WV; and 7 siblings, Freda Perrine of Burnsville, WV; Ralph Carson (Ruth) of Gilmer Station, John S. Carson and companion Kate Blake of Buckhannon, WV; Ray Carson of Gilmer Station, Glen Carson (Linda) of Craigsville, WV; Joyce Moore of Ohio, and Mae Johnson of Elkins.
Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
Along with his parents, Donnie is preceded in death by 3 siblings, Russell Carson, Mary Heater, and Carol Robinson.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 3:00 PM; Sunday, December 26, 2021. Burial will follow in the Canfield Cemetery near Sand Fork, WV. Friends will be received from 2:00 – 3:00 PM; Sunday at the mortuary in Glenville.
