Richard David “Dave” Minney, 62 of Sand Fork, WV; departed this earthly life peacefully in his sleep on Monday, July 18, 2022 at his home in Sand Fork.
He was born April 3, 1960 in Laurel, Maryland, son of the late Kesslie Benton and Hallie Mae Parsons Minney.
Dave is a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 1978. He worked for Flying W Plastics in Glenville for many years and retired from CJ Hughes Pipeline Contracting in Huntington, WV; in January of 2021. In his spare time, Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, spending time with family and friends, and most of all being with Heather and Josh and his grandbabies.
Surviving are 2 children, Heather Jamison and husband Stephen of Glenville and Joshua Minney and wife Ciara of Normantown, 4 grandchildren, Joshua David Minney, Holden Scott Minney, Katherine Jamison, and Isaiah Jamison, and 5 siblings, Darlene Meadows and husband Virgil of Normantown, WV; Ellen Minney of Sand Fork, Kesslie “Buddy” Minney and wife Mary of Alum Bridge, WV, Debra L. Huffman and husband Denzil of Glenville, and Sylvester Minney and wife Jean of Fort Gay, WV.
Also surviving are a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 11:00 AM; Friday, July 22, 2022 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Collins Community Cemetery in Stumptown, WV. Friends will be received from 4:00 – 8:00 PM; Thursday, July 21 at the mortuary in Glenville.
