Obituaries

Roger Lee Minigh, 74 of Cedar Creek Road, departed this earthly life in the early morning hours on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV; following a brief illness.  

He was born March 16, 1949 on Little Bull Run, son of the late Paul and Margaret Moss Minigh.  

He grew up with 10 brothers and sisters and graduated from Normantown High School.  Roger worked his entire life as a plumber/pipe fitter for Local Union 152.  Roger was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed gardening.  He also enjoyed visiting his neighbors, family & friends.  He was a Christian by faith and had attended Rhoades Chapel and the Church of God of Prophecy of Sand Fork, WV.   

 Surviving are 4 children, Christina (Ray) George of Columbus, OH; son, Justin Minigh of Everett, WA; daughter Jennifer (Patrick) Grandey of Fort Mill, SC; and Erin (Jay) Franklin of Thornton, CO; and 4 grandchildren:  Isaac & Emma Grandey and Madison & Jack Franklin.    

Also surviving are 8 siblings  Robert (Becky) Minigh of Glenville; Paul (Pam) Minigh of Glenville; Marvin Minigh of Cedarville; Pat Minigh of Glenville; Paulette (Peter) Beall of Weston; June (Pat) McCartney of Sand Fork; Pam (Rebecah) Minigh of Jane Lew and Annette Intihar of Willoughby, OH; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other wonderful family and friends.   

Along with his parents, Roger was preceded in death by granddaughter, Kaelyn Franklin, and 2 brothers, Leonard and Wilford Minigh.    

A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Friday, April 21, 2023 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Moss Family Cemetery on Little Bull Run. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM; – 1:00 PM; at the mortuary in Glenville.
