Doris Darlene Wine, 65 of Dusk Camp departed this earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the mid-morning hours of Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
She was born April 1, 1958 in Braxton County, WV; daughter of Russell Taylor of Duck, WV; and the late Phyllis Knight Williams.
Darlene is a former employee at Kenney Shoe Factory in Glenville and worked as a Home Health Care Provider for the Gilmer County Senior Citizens with 30 plus years’ experience. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, caring for her children, grandchildren, and anyone else who needed it, watching her grandchildren play sports, and working with the Freemansburg Youth Ministry.
Darlene is a United Methodist by faith and a member of the Orlando United Methodist Church. She was a second mother to so many children over the years, whether it was helping the youth through the church or friends of her daughters or grandchildren, Darlene was always there to support them.
On August 21, 1977 Darlene was united in marriage to Rev. William Martin Wine, who survives at their Dusk Camp home.
Surviving are 2 loving daughters, Teresa Fuller and husband Donte of Sand Fork, and Joy Wine of Baldwin, and 2 siblings, Vickie Malcomb of Long Shoal, and Tony Williams of North Carolina.
Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Trinity Bancroft, Zachariah Wine, Lamaia Chambers, Uzziah Fuller, Hezekiah Fuller and a sixth grandchild, Azariah Darlene Nicole Fuller who is due to arrive in September.
Along with her mother, Darlene is preceded in death by her step-father, George Williams, Step-mother, Lillian Taylor, and an infant brother, Russell Shannon Taylor.
A funeral service will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 1:00 PM; Monday, June 12, 2023 with Rev. Russell Furr officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Grove Cemetery near Linn, WV. Friends will be received from 11:00 – 1:00 PM; Monday at the mortuary in Glenville.
